Citizenship

W
e've tried to answer most of the questions we could think of throughout this site. No doubt, we'll learn about which questions need answering as you write us and react to the site. Until then, here are a couple of questions that we've heard over the years, and a couple we are anticipating. We'll add more as they come in!

Where are you?

In North Toronto, at York Mills and Leslie, to put it broadly. Our exact address is 55 Scarsdale Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M3B 2R3. Select this link to see us on Google Maps.

What grades does WillowWood teach?

One to twelve!

Do you teach the full Ontario curriculum?

Absolutely. We offer the Ontario curriculum for all grade levels, and credit courses in High School.

Do you offer Summer School programs?

Summer School at WillowWood offers credit courses for High School students, and workshops and educational/recreational programs for students in Lower and Middle School. We post our application package during the winter on the Summer Programmes page; if you have questions, you can always call us at (416) 444 7644. Ask for Joy.

Do your students go on to post-secondary education?

For sure: everything from apprenticeships to college, university and post-graduate studies. Our guidance counselor walks students and parents through the process of selecting and applying to post-secondary programs of all types, as early as is required.

What is your application process?

Get in touch - call us at (416) 444 7644 - and come in for an interview and a tour. The decision process revolves around the fit between family and school -we don't have entrance exam criteria - so we usually have prospective students in for a half-day visit in a classroom and then meet again to discuss.

Can I see a course calendar?

Yes you can! Thanks to the parent who suggested this addition. Select one of the links below for guides to courses offered (in most recent years, subject to change).

- Middle School Curriculum Package, 2009

How about a fee schedule?

Download our fee schedule here. Note that the accuracy of this schedule depends on the dates indicated on the schedule, and that it can change from year to year. We'll try to keep it updated; if it's out of date, please let us know. (jeffc@willowwoodschool.ca).

I can't see the Blog / Calendar / Homework Site! How come?

The Blog, calendar and SPTS Homework site are all for current students and their families. A preview of the blog's contents is available on the splash page/portal.

If you ARE a current student or the family of one, you can get a username/password from Jeff, or in the case of the blog, sign up for one yourself.

If you've GOT a password already and can't get in, make sure it's the right one: Homework Site (SPTS) usernames start with ww1 or ww2; blog passwords are whatever you want them to be

Forgotten IDs can be retrieved. For the Homework (SPTS) site, contact jeffc@willowwoodschool.ca. For the Blog, click on the "Lost Your Password" link on the login page. And if you're stuck - just get in touch with Jeff.

If you have suggestions for FAQs, please consider writing and letting us know! Write jeffc@willowwoodschool.ca and we'll add your question to our list. (We'll also write you back with the answer if you like!)
